Other eighteenth century Grosers
Samuel Groser Nicholas Groser Joseph Groser John Groser Joseph Groser John Lewis Groser
For an explanation of the separate listing of these six Grosers, see Christoph Grosser/Bridget Collins
Most of these or their descendants were listed at some time or other under one of the three main variants, Groser, Grocer and Grosser. Because their baptisms and places of origin have not been identified, it is currently impossible to determine whether they were related to the Christoph Grosser (or Christopher Grocer) who married Bridget Collins in 1735. With the exception of the French John Lewis Groser, all married in or near London between 1750 and 1780.
Apart from the German Grossers, there were Groserts and Grosarts in Scotland, Grosers, Grossers and Grocers in the North of England and in Ireland, and many variants of Crozier prior to the mid-eighteenth century.
